Reformer Pilates

We are the very first studio in the North Cork area to invest and bring you this wonderful apparatus training system. It really is the most wonderful movement system that is endlessly beneficial for your mind and body.  A wide variety of exercises are done on the reformer to promote length, strength, flexibility, and balance. Pilates reformer exercises have to do with pushing or pulling the carriage or holding the carriage steady during an exercise as it is pulled on by the springs.

The reformer’s set-up for eccentric contraction is one of the keys to achieving the long, strong muscles without bulk for which Pilates is known.

“Through the Pilates Method of Body Conditioning this unique trinity of a balanced body, mind and spirit can ever be attained. Self-confidence follows.

– Joseph Pilates

The Pilates Reformer is a traditional piece of Pilates equipment, originally designed by Joseph Pilates while living in a World War I internment camp to help rehabilitate immobilised soldiers. … It adds resistance to the Pilates exercises via the use of the springs that form part of the machine.

All mats, equipment, etc are available in the studio.

“The whole country, the whole world, should be doing my exercises.  They’d be happier” – Joseph Pilates
