Have you booked your class?  Now you’re wondering about what happens next? Let us help you to take the stress away and let you know how all this works.

Firstly, you will be very welcomed into the studio!  We aim to be friendly and open to everyone who walks through our doors!

So, some tips for arriving-

1. Wear Comfortable Clothing

Choose clothing that allows for easy movement and doesn’t restrict your range of motion. Most people wear fitted workout attire such as leggings and a comfortable top.

2. Bring Grippy Socks

They really help! If you don’t have them, they can be purchased in the studio. These socks have non-slip soles that help you maintain stability on the equipment.

3. Arrive Early

Arriving a few minutes early will give you time to check-in, get settled, and familiarise yourself with the studio and instructor.

4. Talk to the Instructor

We’re a group of passionate trainers, each with unique strengths. We continuously learn and develop to bring you the best practices, based on the latest research and guidelines.  Our team’s extensive experience (some with over 20 years) translates to a keen ability to analyse and optimise your movement patterns.

5. Start with Beginner Classes

If you’re new to Pilates, you’ll have to start with a beginner-level classes. These classes often move at a slower pace and focus on building a strong foundation.

6. Housekeeping

There are lockers upstairs for all your belonging to be stored. We like to keep the studios clutter free.

7. Hydrate and Fuel

Drink water before and after class to stay hydrated. Eating a light snack a couple of hours before class can provide you with the energy you need.

8. Stay Consistent

Consistency is key to seeing results in Pilates. Try to attend classes regularly to build strength and improve flexibility.

9. Ask Questions

Don’t hesitate to ask questions if you’re unsure about an exercise or the purpose behind it. Understanding the principles of Pilates can enhance your practice

10. Stay Positive

Maintain a positive attitude and be open to learning. Pilates is a journey, and progress may not always be linear.

11. Enjoy the Process

Remember that Pilates is not just about physical fitness but also about overall well-being. Enjoy the process and the sense of accomplishment as you progress.

By following these tips and staying committed to your Pilates practice, you can experience the numerous benefits that this form of exercise offers, such as improved posture, strength, flexibility, and a greater sense of balance and body awareness.

Our Reformer classes go beyond aesthetics. They strengthen the core muscles that stabilise your entire body, leading to better posture, injury prevention, and improved performance in other activities.

1 Mat or Barre Class

We don’t just teach Mat Pilates at ThePilatesBarre, we celebrate it! Our classes are designed to be fun and effective. You’ll build a strong core, improve your flexibility, and feel amazing from head to toe. But – it’s the vibe! Come experience the difference – you won’t regret it!
